Using the new Arduino UNO board, an IR range finder and a couple of RGB LED's, I have been able to develop a prototype of the proximity cube.

Currently the system recognizes three stages of proximity and displays either cyan, magenta or white light depending on the distance. In addition, I have adapted a version of the Networked Lamp, to update the proximity colour responses depending on the intensity of keywords used in the media. In the next couple of days I hope to incorporate a wireless XBEE and battery module to make the cubes autonomous from the circuit.
