EXIOS: EXERCISE KIOSKS

Developed in response to the D&AD brief about using steel wire to encourage people into sport; Exios - Exercise Kiosks are self sustaining kiosks that promote healthy living and well-being to people waiting at 'pause' points in the city.

By making exercise equipment accessible to those individuals who lack the motivation to join a gym or are too self concious to test sports equipment in a store, these people can still be introduced to uptake into a healthier lifestyle passively through their normal daily routines.

Although not specifically aimed at any particular demographic. It is hoped that through collective social interaction, individuals will be able to break down the mental barriers about fitness. Also, the kiosks themselves are powered through recovered kinetic energy that is used to increase the brightness of lighting and advertisements meaning that individuals will be able to get a visual feedback of their exertions.
